A North Miami Beach mother was arrested at PortMiami on September 28 after returning from a Bahamas cruise. Police allege her four children had been left at home without adult supervision.
According to NBC 6, officers went to the family’s apartment on September 26 after a parent raised concerns. Police said they found four children, including an infant, without an adult present.
Investigators said the mother had traveled aboard Carnival Conquest. She faces four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm.
Her attorney denied the allegations. In a September 30 follow-up from Local 10, the mother said she had arranged for someone to care for the children.
NBC 6 reported that she was released on September 29 after posting a $10,000 bond and was ordered to stay away from the children. Authorities said at that time that the children were safe and in foster care.
The charges are allegations, not a finding of guilt.
